Malian Fatoumata Marine Camara beat Minerva Montiel of Paraguay 5:0 in the women’s 57KG round of 16. Based in France, Camara first made headlines at the 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco where she became the first Malian boxer to win a medal at the African Games.
Entering directly into the ladies 57KG, Sierra Leonean Josefien Betist qualified for the round of 16 by forfeiting his opponent Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh from Canada. Josefien Betist represented Sierra Leone for the first time at the African Games in Accra, losing 4-3 in the quarter-finals to Tunisian Nahdi Azza. Among her titles, she is the 2023 Irish senior national champion and the 2023 European U22 bronze medalist.
In the round of 16 of the Men’s 51KG, Ghanaian Theophilus Allotey won 5:0 against Anvarzhan Khodzhiev of Kyrgyzstan. Five days earlier, he had beaten Hungarian Attila Bernath in the round of 32.
Also in the round of 16 of the Men’s 51KG, David Pina of Cape Verde defeated TAM Chun Hin Kanneth of Hong Kong 5:0. Five days earlier, he had beaten Serbian Omer Ametovic in the round of 32.
Entering directly into the round of 16 of the men’s 92KG, Ugandan Regarn Simbwa beat Hungarian Koppany Feher 5:0.

In men’s 51KG, Gabon’s Franck Mombey was beaten 5:0 by North Korea’s SO Chon Ryong and Moroccan Essaadi Hamza was beaten 5:0 by Sri Lanka’s Godakandalage Umayanga Mihiran. In the men’s 92KG, Kenyan Peter Abuti Alwanga was beaten 5:0 by Polish Mateusz Bereznicki.
